  • Content Explanation

The UC aims to create conditions for students to carry out a research project, encouraging their involvement in research relevant to the chosen area and topic, preferably under the guidance of a lecturer on the course. The topic of the dissertation/project must be appropriate to the master's degree, both in terms of theme/problem, difficulty and scope and, if possible, be relevant both to the student and to the development of knowledge in each area of knowledge associated with school administration and/or educational policies. The support provided by the supervisor throughout the course of the work creates conditions for the successful development of the work.

  • Methodology Explanation

The deepening of knowledge in a specific area of the course and research capacity are developed through the individual effort of students throughout the process of carrying out their dissertation or project work, with tutorial guidance from the supervisor, subject to evaluation of the final report and respective public defense. The individualization of the work does not exclude the inclusion of students in research groups/teams at CIEQV (or any other research center that may exist at IPS) according to the themes to be explored. On the other. hand, throughout the dissertation/project, students can collectively discuss/share the development of their work in the Research Seminar classes (an annual UC in the 2nd year).

The presentation and discussion in public will contribute to the development of the student's communication and argumentation skills, which will also be assessed in this test.
