Mestrado em Fisioterapia em Condições Músculo-Esqueléticas

    Degree details

  • Degree objectives

The Master's in Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Conditions is the result of a partnership between the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), through the Nova Medical School/Faculty of Medical Sciences (NMS/FCM) and the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (ENSP), and the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, through the Escola Superior de Saúde (ESS), and was designed in accordance with the Standards of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapy. The course also provides the opportunity for students to develop their clinical skills in the area of musculoskeletal conditions, and to contribute to the research carried out in this clinical area. Building on the skills and attributes developed in initial training, (particularly at the theoretical and applied levels necessary for the safe and effective practice of physiotherapy in musculoskeletal conditions, self-directed learning skills, and problem-solving and critical evaluation skills), the course promotes an approach centred on the needs of the user/specific populations, and a commitment to the values of the profession and to professional development and lifelong learning.
