Degree objectives

This course aims to train specialists with cross-disciplinary skills in computer science, with a particular focus on information systems programming. Starting from a foundation in algorithms and programming fundamentals, the concepts are explored in depth in specific topics. These include database management systems, information security, systems integration, web environments, and mobile device applications. The fundamental aspects of managing an IS development project are also addressed. This course combines the learning of essential knowledge with a high practical and laboratory component, focused on developing skills suitable for entering the job market.

Recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

Admission requirements

Hold secondary education or equivalent, which includes the subject of Mathematics; hold the M23 exams for access to the course; or hold a technological specialisation diploma, a higher vocational technical diploma or a higher education degree.
