Pós-Graduação em Educação Especial - Domínio Cognitivo e Motor

    Degree details

  • Degree objectives

In the contemporary social context, educational institutions are faced with a growing need to manage new knowledge and new practices in order to question their practices according to the characteristics of students, teachers and the surrounding communities.
In this context, teachers/educators need to acquire a new set of professional skills to deal with these new problems and to help transform traditional models of intervention and the construction of educational practices and policies.
To this end, specialised and continuous training that is appropriate to the professional challenges and, more broadly, to the collective challenges, is essential. School organisation and educational practices must ensure the management of diversity, enabling the educational needs of students to be met.
The course is geared towards specialised training in which educators, teachers, trainers and different technicians who work (or expect to work) with children and young people with cognitive and motor deficits, deepen their knowledge and develop skills and attitudes that enable them to reflect on the most appropriate practices for children and young people with special educational needs in the cognitive and motor field and to base their intervention on achieving inclusion.
