Degree objectives
The Physiotherapy degree programme at ESS-IPS has been Bologna-compliant since 2008. It uses a case-based learning model that promotes learning centred on the challenges of professional practice and the individual needs of the student. It prepares students for excellent practice, in accordance with international standards and profiles, namely those of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy and the Australian Standards for Physiotherapy. From the first year of the course, the student has the opportunity to learn in real professional practice contexts, in diverse and recognised clinical practice sites, and is also given the opportunity to learn in international contexts. You have the support of a highly qualified and recognised teaching staff, which contributes to a constructive learning environment. You also have the opportunity to learn in an academic spirit of mutual support between students from the same year, other years and other ESS courses. You are invited to collaborate in various extracurricular activities throughout the year, including research and community activities, contributing to the health and well-being of the population.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The course aims to train physiotherapists with a professional profile that favours interaction between the technical-scientific and humanistic dimensions, promoting current and effective, autonomous, ethical and reflective practice, centred on the needs, potential and health expectations of users/populations, in a commitment to their personal and professional development.
The syllabus over the 4 years of the course ensures that the physiotherapist who graduates from ESS-IPS can fully exercise their profession, namely in providing care to users/populations, managing users and ensuring good practice, collaborating on research projects, participating in the training of new professionals or other health professionals and consulting on projects that benefit the health of the community. -
