Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The overall objective of the programme is to train students to implement an innovative system, based on the best available scientific evidence, for the assessment and treatment of LBP, which associates specific types of treatment with different subgroups at risk of developing persistent and disabling pain in their clinical practice contexts. Specifically, throughout the course, students will develop: • Knowledge and understanding of low back pain as a condition with a high and growing burden, its impact, and the interaction between biological, psychological, and social factors in the development of persistent and disabling low back pain; • Clinical skills in screening for red flags and the risk of developing persistent and disabling low back pain; • Clinical skills for standardised physiotherapy intervention for low and medium risk subgroups of developing persistent and disabling pain (patient education, manual therapy, and exercise)
