Objetivos do curso
The Master's Degree in Nursing is carried out in association with the Higher Schools of Health of the Polytechnic Institutes of Beja, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Setúbal, Nursing School of S. João de Deus of the University of Évora and School of Health of the University of Algarve, through a rotating protocol (administrative-financial management under the responsibility of the host institution of the edition. This training offer, with its characteristics of a professional master's degree, intersects with research and community extension. By proposing to train masters in specialized areas of nursing, we will qualify professionals for a differentiated and quality care provision to the populations.
Privileging high-level training and qualification, the objectives defined for this master's degree are included in the scope of the educational, scientific and cultural project of the Higher Education Institutions involved, associating the dimensions of community extension as well as cultural, scientific and technological cooperation and exchange, with regional, national and international entities, in a perspective of reciprocal valorization that fosters the development of knowledge and enhances the ability to intervention in society. The course offers seven areas of specialization: Community Nursing in the Area of Community Health and Public Health Nursing; Community Nursing in the Area of Family Health Nursing; Rehabilitation Nursing; Child and Pediatric Health Nursing; Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing; Medical-surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for the Person in Critical Situation; Medical-surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for the Person in Palliative Situation -

Objetivos da aprendizagem e competências a desenvolver
Develop knowledge and skills for specialized intervention in a nursing domain, evidenced in high levels of clinical judgment and decision-making, taking into account human responses to life processes and health problems; To promote the improvement of the quality of health care, using research, evidence-based practice and ethical and deontological frameworks; To train for clinical governance, team and project leadership as well as for the supervision and management of care, in the different contexts of linear practice. To contribute to the development of discipline and specialized training.

In the health area, in all contexts of nursing care, sectoral and intersectoral, at all levels of prevention, in which scientific, technical and human skills are required and/or applied to provide specialized nursing care in the areas of nursing specialty.

Condições de acesso e ingresso
Taking into account the provisions of article no. 17 of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, in its current republication, the following may apply for this cycle of studies: a) Holders of a bachelor's degree in Nursing or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in Nursing conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process; c) Holders of a foreign higher education degree in Nursing that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor's degree by the statutorily competent scientific body of the higher education institution where they intend to be admitted;
d) Detentores de currículo escolar, científico ou profissional, reconhecido como atestando capacidade para realização deste ciclo de estudos, pelo órgão científico estatutariamente competente da instituição de ensino superior onde pretendem ser admitidos; e) Ser detentor do título profissional de Enfermeiro; f) Para a atribuição do título de Enfermeiro Especialista pela Ordem profissional, nos termos do artigo 12.º da Portaria nº 268/2002, de 13 de março, ter pelo menos dois anos de exercício profissional como enfermeiro, à data da matrícula no curso. O reconhecimento referido nas alíneas b) a d) tem como efeito apenas o acesso ao ciclo de estudos conducente ao grau de mestre e não confere ao seu titular a equivalência ao grau de licenciado ou o reconhecimento desse grau.A informação disponibilizada não dispensa a consulta à página da Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES) e/ou a página de candidaturas.

Requisitos para obtenção da qualificação
Passing 12 course units in the field of Community Nursing in the area of Community Health Nursing and Public Health;
Passing 14 course units in the field of Community Nursing in the area of Family Health Nursing;
Passing 14 course units in the field of Rehabilitation Nursing;
Passing 13 course units in the field of Child Health and Paediatric Nursing;
Passing 13 course units in the field of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing;
Passing 13 course units in the field of Medical-Surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for People in Critical Situations;
Passing 13 course units in the field of Medical-Surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for People in Palliative Situations. -
